TERK XM-COMMANDER XM SATELLITE RADIO RECEIVERTERK XM COMMANDER Features
XM Satellite Radio With Intelligent Appeal
The Terk XM Commander receiver gives you a clean, elegant satellite radio solution. Intelligently designed, its ultra low-profile blends inconspicuously with automotive interiors and works with any car stereo system. It's satellite radio in-a-box: you get the Commander (controller/digital display unit), hide-away tuner box, low-profile micro antenna, remote control, power and extender cable, relay switch, and mounting accessories--everything necessary for a quick and easy installation. An FM modulator is built-in to the Commander's receiver allowing satellite radio to play through any FM radio on any of six frequencies, at least one of which must be unused by over-the-air stations in your area. The antenna has a powerful magnetic mount and needs at least a 12" x 12" flat surface area on a metal vehicle roof at least 6" away from a window or sunroof.
There's No Escaping XM Satellite Radio Entertainment
Getting tired of local commercial radio? With XM, America's most popular satellite radio service (over 2,000,000 subscribers), you select what you want to hear, when you want to hear it, anywhere in the contiguous 48 states. XM offers over 100 channels of digital-quality music, news, sports, and entertainment for a low monthly subscription fee plus an intitial activation fee (subscription and activation are not included with receiver purchase). No matter what your musical tastes, XM Satellite Radio can satisfy you with 68 commercial-free music channels, 33 channels of news, sports, talk, and entertainment, 21 channels of instant traffic and weather for major metropolitan areas around the country, and a music library of more than 2 million titles. All of this comes to you from XM's Washington, D.C. studios by way of "Rock" and "Roll," the two geostationary satellites that beam programming to your car or home antenna. Ground-based repeaters in big cities make sure you won't loose your signal in urban canyons. There's really only one way to loose your XM Satellite Radio signal--leave the country (Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. Territories excepted).
Be In Command
Operating the XM Commander receiver is a snap. The wired controller/display has a large, two-line LCD display (adjustable for contrast), a tuning wheel/enter button, and 10 number keys. You can access almost all the controller/display functions with the wireless remote control from anywhere in the vehicle, plus the remote has exclusive jump and scan features. No more wondering what that song is or who did it; you can toggle through three different combinations of channel name, channel number, song title, and artist name on the display/controller. You can direct-enter channel numbers on the display/controller or the remote, tune channels in sequence by rotating the display/controller's tuning wheel or using the up/down keys on the remote, tune through entertainment categories with the remote, and store up to 10 preset channels in each of three memory banks. TuneSelect lets you label up to 15 favorite songs and the XM Commander will alert you if any one of them is playing on any channel. You can preview the song/artist on other channels without changing channels. On the remote, you can jump back and forth between previous channels and scan sequentially through presets in the active bank, channels in the active category, or all the channels. Each channel in scan plays for five seconds; and if not selected, the Commander tunes to the next channel in succession. What more could you want? The Terk XM Commander does it all!
